I want to write it down before I forget and look at this post in the future in case I need something to cheer me up. Everything are out of plain memory so I hope I can recall as much as possible.
Let's start!
Humans are all equal. The very purpose of our life is to seek happiness. Culture difference, religion, nationality, races are secondary importance.
Question: What is the different between love and attachment? How can you love without being attachment?
Answer: There are 2 level of love.
1st level is love with attachment (without reason/bias).
When you are attached to something, you will be bias (without reason) and it's feeling oriented.
When you are attached to something, you will be bias (without reason) and it's feeling oriented.
if you are angry at your enemy, you will only think bad about him without looking at the big picture.
if you like someone, you will only think good about him without reasoning.
2nd level of love is compassionate without attachment. Love someone without bias even he's your enemy.
Along with this. He talk about friendship. How does genuine friendship is formed?
Sincerity>> Trust>> Friendship by being compassionate.
Question: How do you deal with grieve(death)?
Use the grieve to generate positive energy.
It's logical when someone close to you die, you will feel really sad.
It is how you deal with it that's important.
Rather letting the sadness destroy you (physically torture yourself, depression etc), you that sadness to live better.
Eg: When Dalai Lama's mentor passed away, he was really sad. After his mentor death, he has no more support and bare more responsible. Instead of being sorrow, he tell himself he must do better and fulfill his mentor wish. This is what the mentor wants to see if he is still alive.
Question: What do you think the youth today can do can make the world better.
20th century is a century of bloodshed but 21th century will be a century of peace and harmony. In the past, he ask a Queen who was 96 years old at that time, what to you think about the world has become in this century? She answered instantly,"It became better" as we know have all kind of rights which are not there in the past. Therefore, the future will definitely become better. (Don't remember what he said after that)
Question: How do you deal with family who will be left behind when you die.
Tell you family members that you live a meaningful life and you want them to live a meaningful life too.
When you lived a meaningful life, when you die, you feel peaceful.
If you believe in God, you will be with God.
If you believe in Buddha, you will be reborn with good karma.
If you are a non believer, if you live a meaningful life, you will die with no regrets.
Separate sinner and his sin.
Love your enemy but not his action. Being compassionate does not mean accept everything your enemy do. We still need to deal with his action even thought we must take hostile/harsh action. This is still consider being compassionate.
Forgive your enemy but not his action.
Violent cannot solve violent. Only non-violent can solve violent.
Human have a sorrow sharing capacity. So please share you sadness with other because you will feel better.
If you are angry, don't focus on it. Think in a wider perspective. Use your intelligence. Think what is the cause. The moment you think about it, the intensity of your anger will be reduce. To reduce anger, you need to be patience, The enemy provides an opportunity for you to practise patience.
Everyone will definitely have problem/worries in life. Again, use your intelligence to deal with it so that it won't affect your peace of mind. You can have problem and peace of mind at the same time.
If you worry, fear or angry about something and there is a cause, find the reasons for it and take action.
If you worry about something which you cannot change, then don't worry about it.
Question: What is the best way to start buddism?
Answer: Hearing, Investigate, Practice. In any religion, you need to learn it 1st. Then you need to analyse and investigate it. This will put up your conviction. Finally, you need to revise practice it.
This is all that I can remember. Hope you can get some insights from it as well.
Now go on and live
Now go on and live
With no regrets
